Ever since I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the small details that give life to the bigger world.
My passion for photography, especially macro photography, was born from this endless curiosity for the hidden beauty of nature. In this article, I’d like to share who I am, how I started my journey in photography, and why I chose to explore the unseen world through my lens.
Who I Am: The Beginning of a Photography Passion
My name is Alex, and I’m a nature lover, hiking enthusiast, and detail explorer through photography.
My journey in photography began in 2018, when I bought my first camera – a Nikon D5300. In the beginning, it was all about experimentation and discovery: sunsets, portraits, cityscapes.
But I truly found my calling when I pointed my lens toward the small world: a dew-covered leaf, a hidden forest flower, or a tiny insect caught in a sunbeam.
That’s when I discovered the real power of macro photography.
Why Macro Photography?
Macro photography is not just a technical exercise – it’s a form of meditation.
Through our lenses, seemingly insignificant things gain value and beauty.
Why did I choose macro photography?
Because it allows me to discover details invisible to the naked eye.
Because it challenges me to slow down and truly observe.
Because it gives me the opportunity to tell unique stories, full of color, texture, and life.
In every macro shot, I try to capture not just the image, but the emotion of the moment – that sense of wonder when you see an entirely new world through a photographic magnifying glass.
What I've Learned from Macro Photography
Throughout my journey as a nature photographer, I have learned several important lessons:
Patience is key: natural subjects don’t follow human rules, so you must be present and observant.
Natural light is the best ally in macro photography.
Respect for nature is fundamental: every photograph should leave nothing behind but memories.
This passion has transformed me as a person too – it has taught me to see the world differently, to appreciate the tiny miracles around us, and to cherish and protect them.
Where I'm Heading: Future Projects
Today, I continue to explore nature through macro lenses, documenting the hidden beauty of the world around us. My future projects include:
